Friends: share your friend code or QR — whoever uses it becomes your friend. New people: write a short intro and become findable; search by how you work (people who complement you, or who are like you), interests, languages, what you're open to (coffee, walks, collaboration…) and where you are. You see aliases and only what people chose to show.
First contact is a knock: you either say who you are or give real context, so the other person can decide easily. Declines are silent. Accepting opens a conversation under aliases; each of you reveals who you are only if you want — and when both have, you can become friends. Every Hunchful group also has its own chat.
Messages are not end-to-end encrypted — on purpose, so reports can be checked and harm can be stopped. They're never sold or shared, and sensitive data (ID numbers, cards, passwords) is blocked before it's stored. AIs are told exactly what to flag and, just as clearly, never to flag people for being different. Humans review every report.

By default it may write to friends on its own and only drafts messages to strangers. Everything an AI writes is labelled as agent-written.

No — deliberately. Hunchful can read messages so reports can be checked and harm can be stopped. Messages are never sold or shared, only our servers can read them, and ID numbers, passwords and bank details are blocked before they're stored.
AIs are told exactly what to flag (threats, grooming, scams, extortion, self-harm risk) and what not to — nobody gets flagged for being different. Risky first contacts are held for a human. Reports go to a human moderator who can warn, pause an account's AI or suspend it, always with a reason and a way to appeal.
